I embarked on my journey at TIKI on Nov 15, 2021, as an Employee Relations (ER) Intern. After 6-month of dedication and meticulous work, I think, I became an official employee at TIKI. Since there were no headcounts for the ER position, I joined the Engagement & Office Team with the position of Employee Engagement Associate Executive.
In Dec 13, 2022, a month after I reached 1 year working at TIKI, I realized that my work would be in a loop repeating year by year so I found a way to expand my knowledge and understanding about the business as much as I could. Luckily, our CEO & Founder – Mr. Tran Ngoc Thai Son, at that time looking for a supporter for his administrative tasks. I was a little bit hesitant but then accepted the challenges. It was such a twist of fate for a fresh-faced graduate like me to learn from the Leader of a big corporation with strong experience in running a business. From that time, I played a role of both Employee Engagement Associate Executive and CEO Admin Assistant.

On April 01, 2024, as a Top performer having excellent working results in FY2023, I was promoted to Employee Engagement Executive.
When it comes to my responsibility at TIKI, I am in charge of 4 main spheres of scope with the details below. If you have time, don’t hesitate to take a look!
1. Internal Communication
The question that I have to answer with this scope of work is:
How to make the right pieces of information find its way to the right Tikies (the way we call those who works at TIKI) and specifically fostering the company’s culture?
As a GenZ, I tried to apply the most creative and familiar way in communication, playing a role as a Content ‘full-stack’ – not only write and creative the content but also design poster and edit video when the needs arise. Since there are many things which are confidential so I could not show all of the works here, just drop some of those fyi about my products:
There are various way to communicate within a company, not only via email, but also via other ways:
Project Owner – Internal E-Magazine “TIKI In The Know”
This project was created before I joined TIKI and I received the handle from my Line Manager. My responsibilities are collaborating with other stakeholders: HRBP, related Department/ Divisions for updating the news and writing the content to publish a bi-monthly E-Magazine.
We also have a podcast on Spotify for this Magazine and I contributed my voice also.
Happy to share with you that the average satisfaction of the readers are up to 91% via survey ^^
Content Writer – TIKI Employee Handbook
As a Tikie, I also want to create the best experience for the New Comers joining our company so that after a year working here, I think that it’s better if we have a document sharing many interesting things about our company to make them feel connected on the very first touches. Eventually, with the supports from many stakeholders: HRBP, C&B, L&D, etc. we completed the pdf version for the handbook. I can share with you guys the very first pages of the Handbook as below:
Hosting Onboarding & Orientation Program
At the time I joined TIKI, we did not have a sperate Department in charge for this as L&D Department. So in my first year, I am the person responsible for this, welcome, I think, thousands of New Comers to my company. I spent 1.5 hours per week for the presentation, sharing everything about the company: intro, stories, core values, culture, etc. since I was an Intern to be an official employee.
This experience gave me not only a better understanding about the company but also improved my presentation skill a lot. In 2022, when there the L&D Department was formed, I just played a role as a presenter for this session and support to take the fingerprint.

2. Internal Events
Turning my workplace into a lively social hub is one of my responsibilities.
When I was a student at university, I experienced in organizing some small events for the club, around 10-30 people, but working at TIKI, the number is x200. At TIKI we have many activities for Tikies to join, fostering the sense of camaraderie such as:
Happy Hour
This was conducted monthly with F&B for Tikies to enjoy, especially on Sales Season; some time we organized workshop or DIY activities for them to relax during working hours.

TIKI All Hands
I think almost companies will have monthly/ quarterly townhall for people gathering together and updating the latest news of the business from the Top Leaders of company.
In my role, I collaborated closely with these leaders to prepare the program -planning the agenda, coordinating speakers, drafting announcement emails, and preparing presentation materials. I also served as the MC for the events, standing in front of the leadership team and the entire company, ensuring a smooth experience for both online and in-person audiences.
Additionally, I created supporting materials, such as videos for the opening segment or for celebrating long-service awards. Below is one of the video I made :v
TIKI Share & Learn
To embrace the spirit of “Non-stop learning – Non-stop growing”, TIKI Share & Learn was created as a platform for Tikies to engage, connect, and grow together. Every month, different Departments share their knowledge and experiences, helping Tikies not only strengthen their business acumen but also gain a clearer understanding of each team’s role and TIKI’s overall journey.
For me, this program has been a great opportunity to connect with TIKI Leaders and learn directly from them. As one of the organizers, I never missed a single session – each one gave me the chance to explore exciting insights and discover many valuable lessons about the business.
TIKI Live To Share
TIKI Live To Share is a CSR project conducted through internal charity fundraising with contributions from Tikies and charity markets. This fund is used under the motto “Share The Smile” to bring smiles to Vietnamese children. During my working time at TIKI, I connected with 2 organizations: Maison Chance and Nuoi Em project to award scholarships and build schools for children. It can be said that this experience has helped me grow, helping me feel that my work is much more meaningful.

In the past, we created a charity market to raise internal funds for this project. From my point of view, I thought that it be better if we could create a “sub e-commerce site” to sell our internal product rather than the traditional one, cause our company is a startup in e-commerce. Application in operation work to save time is needed to do. Then I spent time researching and implementing an upgraded version for this project: an online charity e-commerce site as below.
This helped my team to manage stocks better as well as created a cleaner process: easy to use, real-time information for our employees when shopping for charity.

Health Talk & Online Workshop
To promote employee well-being, I had the chance to collaborate with our vendor to organize a series of Health Talks & Online Workshops for Tikies. These sessions not only provided practical knowledge about physical and mental health but also created a space where employees could pause, relax, and take better care of themselves.
Working on this program gave me the opportunity to coordinate with external experts, manage logistics, and ensure that our colleagues had a meaningful and engaging experience. It was rewarding to see participants actively join the activities and leave with useful tips they could apply in their daily lives.

3. Employer Branding
At TIKI, I worked as a ‘full-stack’ content creator – from brainstorming ideas to designing, recording, and editing. I built skills in video production, including scripting, shooting, and post-production, which helped me create engaging content tailored to different audiences and platforms.
Below are some of my video products:
Most of the videos were posted on Facebook, but since I can’t embed them here, I’ve pasted the links below in case you’d like to watch. =))

Wrapped up the journey

I left Tiki nearly two years ago to experience a new work environment, and this post has been lingering in my drafts ever since. Today, I finally decided to finish it – mostly because I’m tired of seeing it there :v
The time at Tiki was truly valuable. I met wonderful colleagues and gained lessons that still guide me today. As Mr. Son said in our last 1:1: “This is your first company – you should explore more.” Since then, I’ve been on that journey, and I’ve realized leaving wasn’t as daunting as I imagined.
Tiki will always hold a special place in my career – a first chapter full of respect, learning, and experiences that continue to shape me.

(Sure, there’s way more to the story, but I left it out because hunting down pics and details is hard work… and I’m lazy :v)
